ProtoGroup Press Release
Satyam and ProtoGroup form Partnership
Tokyo, Japan - May 10, 2006 - Today, Satyam Computer Services Limited (NYSE:SAY) has announced offering services in Legacy MS Access Application Migration for the Japanese market through its partnership with Chicago based ProtoGroup, LLC (privately held). Armed with the new partnership with ProtoGroup who produces ReGenTM for Access, a new and unique, application platform conversion engine, Satyam plans to strategically target customers still running legacy Line of Business applications developed on Access 97. ProtoGroup President, Mr. Christos Fotiadis, says the following about ReGen for Access: “Recently, there has been a marked increase in demand for legacy LOB application migration. This is primarily due to technology obsolescence, elimination of support from the original technology vendor, and required changes brought about by new legislation and business policies. A significant increase in the number of applications to migrate combined with increased labor costs can often make the cost of migration financially prohibitive, which forces companies to remain on legacy technology at significant risk to their operations. We saw the need for unique and comprehensive tools that automate the migration process and eliminate much of the financial burden associated with migration, and have answered this need with ReGenTM” Joshua Satoshi Shozen, Regional Business Manager in Japan for Microsoft Global Accounts has this to say “ProtoGroup’s ReGenTM solution fills a very important gap for our customers and allows them to modernize their existing applications and leverage Microsoft’s newest technology while dramatically reducing migration cost and risk.” Characteristics of ProtoGroup’s ReGenTM for Access Migration Solution:
About ProtoGroup: ProtoGroup LLC, a leading provider of application platform conversion software helps its customers by significantly reducing their project costs and time through the use of automated processes. ProtoGroup was founded by a former Microsoft Services Strategy Consultant, after observing that a significant number of Microsoft customers had not upgraded their Office97 version after 3 new releases of MS Office, because of the heavy cost of migration of Access applications. The entire portfolio relies on software tools and methods created by ProtoGroup that automate various processes and phases in a migration project's life cycle to increase reliability of the deliverables and substantially reduce the time, human errors and effort requirements. ProtoGroup is also in the process of creating a version of ReGen to convert Lotus Notes applications. The headquarters of ProtoGroup are located in Chicago (USA) with sales offices in Tokyo.
